The Biochar & Bioenergy 2019 conference will focus on bridging scientific, industrial, practitioner, and policy gaps in biomass utilization for biochar and bioenergy production. The US Biochar Initiative (USBI) promotes the sustainable production and use of biochar, and has hosted the pre-eminent North American biochar conference since 2009. The Bioenergy Alliance Network of the Rockies (BANR) will be celebrating completion of a large research effort to provide science-based underpinning for sustainable biofuel & bio-products creation from beetle-killed and residual wood feedstocks in that region. The meeting will draw attention to biochar and bioenergy science, technology, and sustainability issues at local-to-global scales.
Biochar & Bioenergy 2019 will be held in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the Lory Student Center on the Colorado State University campus. A small city nestled at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains a short drive north of Denver, Fort Collins routinely ranks among the best small cities in the nation for its ample access to outdoor recreation, Platinum Bicycle Friendly Community status, and ambitious sustainability goals. The conference venue provides easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park and a variety of of scenic drives and hikes as highlighted on our Sponsorship page, and there are a multitude of other 4th-of-July celebrations occurring across the state, from Frisco to Aspen to Durango!
