Job opportunities
Process Engineer
Company: Quadrogen Power Systems, Inc.
Number of Openings: 1
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Office: Vancouver; Current project: Delta, BC
Compensation: Based on experience
Company Description:
Quadrogen Power Systems, Inc. (“Quadrogen”) designs, builds, and installs high performance gas clean-up solutions for the renewable energy sector to address wastewater, landfill, agricultural and municipal waste projects. Quadrogen has focused on the design, development, and commercialization of its Integrated Biofuel Clean-up system technology (IBCS). The company worked closely with world leading companies and research organizations such as FuelCell Energy, Air Products, Microsoft, and the National Research Council of Canada. The IBCS is a critical sub-system for onsite and on demand co-production of renewable power, heat, hydrogen, CO2 for greenhouse fertilization, biomethane, and biodiesel from waste organic material or other methane sources. Using novel methods that cost-effectively convert and remove fuel contaminants, Quadrogen’s technology reduces the operating and maintenance costs of renewable energy production while improving system reliability.

Current Project:
Quadrogen with its technology and funding partners is demonstrating a 300 kW “hex”-generation project at Village Farms in Delta, BC. The commercial demonstration project will produce renewable electricity, heat, hydrogen, CO2 for fertilization, biomethane, and biodiesel on a Build-Own-Operate basis from landfill gas that is produced by the nearby landfill operated by the City of Vancouver. Quadrogen will be commencing operation of this demonstration project by Q1 of 2017. The Process Engineer will develop, set-up, and conduct test plans to better characterize the system and report output parameters (e.g. – product quality including gas/liquid analyses, production rates such as recovery/conversion rates, etc.) based on varying feed and operating conditions.
There will be new project(s) in the near future.
Qualifications:
- Degree in chemical engineering or process engineering (P.Eng. is an asset)
- 3-5 years’ industry experience
- Strong motivation and sense of responsibility
- Able to lead and manage
Required Skills:
Safety; Mass and energy balances; Reactor design & operation; Modeling; Equipment set-up/testing; Commissioning; Instrument selection; Analytical testing; Trouble shooting; Data analysis; Management; Communication; Team leading and giving supervision
